WebTrimethoprim eliminates bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. It is used in combination with other drugs to treat certain types of pneumonia. It also is used to treat traveler's diarrhea. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. Web30 mg/kg every 12 hours, intravenous infusion recommended in children less than 3 months. Child 3 months–17 years 30 mg/kg every 8 hours (max. per dose 1.2 g every 8 hours).
