Spin-spin relaxation time
WebOct 16, 2010 · Relaxation is a process that a nuclear spin system returns to thermal equilibrium after the absorption of RF (radio frequency pulse) energy. The time taken for this relaxation is called the relaxation time, which includes two types, spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) and spin-spin relaxation time (T2). WebRelaxation can occur as the so-called spin–lattice relaxation (also called longitudinal relaxation, characteristic time T1 ), which probes the fast-to-intermediate dynamics of a system of the mid-kHz to GHz scale, while the spin–spin relaxation (transverse, T2) probes slower processes.

WebFeb 19, 2016 · Spin-spin relaxation time (T 2) for the pendant methylene protons in the PAaU block at 3.2 ppm ( ) and the pendant methylene protons in the PAMPS block at 3.4 ppm ( ) in PAMPS–PAaU as a function of pH in D 2 O containing 0.1 M NaCl at C p = 10 g/L. WebThis relaxation process is described by the spin-lattice relaxation time T 1, which is a characteristic time needed by the magnetization to return to the z-axis, and by the spin-spin relaxation time T 2, which describes the vanishing time of the magnetization in the xy-plane.
